Caitlyn has decided to change her name as well as gender legally, this step was taken in an exclusive preview from tonight’s episode of I Am Cait, Caitlyn.
She invites a representative from the Los Angeles LGBT Center, gal-pal Drian Juarez to her house to discuss the procedure.
Drian tells her, “You have to go through the court-ordered process, which has been streamlined a bit, before you had to have gender-confirmation surgery before you could change your gender marker. There was advocacy done to change that and now you just have to have clinically-appropriate treatment to change your gender marker.”
“After hearing all the struggles people go through because they don’t have the proper documentation, I realized that I should be a little bit more aggressive in dealing with this issue of my identity,” Caitlyn says. “I think it’s time to get that process started.”
Drian continues to explain that once the court officially gives Cait a new identity and she receives her IDs, then she will be acknowledged as Caitlyn Jenner in every state.
